Configuring the DNS server addresses of your Axis video unit

If your video unit is using a static IP address to connect to the Internet, or it is using DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) and it still cannot connect to Stratocast™, you must configure the DNS server address of your Axis video unit.
Before you begin
- Ping the Axis dispatch servers from your Axis video unit.
- Check the default gateway of your Axis video unit.

After you finish
- If you are using static IP addressing and you still cannot add your video unit, check the server settings of your Axis video unit.
- If you are using dynamic IP addressing (or DHCP) and you still cannot add your
video unit, do the following:
- Repeat the steps in task above, however, this time, select Use the following DNS server address.
- Enter the DNS server address that is provided to you by your ISP.
- Restart the video unit and wait at least ten minutes for the state to change from Waiting for connection to Connected.
- If the video unit is still not connecting, delete it from Stratocast™ and then try adding your
video unit again.
If you still cannot add your video unit, check the server settings of your Axis video unit.
