Federation™ joins multiple, independent Genetec™ security systems into a single virtual system. With this feature, users on a central system, called the Federation host, can view and control entities that belong to remote systems.

Integrators
- User levels
  A user level is an access requirement that defines a user's ability to perform certain tasks once logged on to Stratocast™. Excluding the cloud administrator of Genetec Inc., there are four user levels with varying privileges in Stratocast™.
- Integrator account types
  Account privileges, such as the number of cameras that you are allowed to add, are defined by the account type that you have been assigned.
- Adding integrator users
  As an integrator administrator, you can add other integrators to one or more of your Stratocast™ accounts so that they can help you manage your client accounts.
- Modifying integrator users
  After integrator users have been added to your integrator account, you can modify their information even if they have not yet activated their Stratocast™ account.
- Searching for integrator users
  If the list of integrator users is long and it is difficult to find a particular one, you can search for the user by name to find what you are looking for quickly.
- Deleting integrator users
  If an integrator user is no longer required, you can delete them so that they are permanently removed from your account.
- About Federation™

- About Federation™ users and remote monitoring
  Although the Federation™ user feature and remote monitoring user feature are similar in concept, and both use the Federation™ role in Security Center, they each have a specific function.
- Adding remote monitoring users
  To allow integrators who use Security Center to manage their client accounts from their local installation of Security Desk, you can add a remote monitoring user and then configure the Federation™ role in Config Tool.
- Deleting the remote monitoring user
  An integrator user or integrator administrator can delete the remote monitoring user when remote access to the client account is no longer required.
- Adding Federation™ users
  To allow clients of Security Center to view and control their Stratocast™ cameras from their local installation of Security Desk, you can add Federation™ users and then configure the Federation™ role in Config Tool.

About Federation™

Federation™ joins multiple, independent Genetec™ security systems into a single virtual system. With this feature, users on a central system, called the Federation host, can view and control entities that belong to remote systems.

How it works in Stratocast™

In Stratocast™, you can use a Security Center Federation™ role to connect your Stratocast™ cameras to a Security Center system. For example, as shown in the following image, the two client cameras that are connected to Stratocast™ are being federated to the Security Center server through the Federation™ role, and appear on the client's local installation of Security Desk.

Federating Stratocast™ cameras

You can add an unlimited number of Federation™ users per client account. From their local version of Security Desk, clients that are assigned as Federation™ users can do the following with their cameras:

View live and playback video
Add bookmarks
Start and stop video recording
Export video
Control their PTZ cameras
Axis ACAP only

Important: When exporting video in a federated system, the exported video file is stored on the client's local system, not in the Stratocast™ vault. Only video that is exported in Stratocast™ gets stored in the vault.
