What's new in Stratocast™

With each release, new features, enhancements, or resolved issues are added to the product.

What's new: August 2018

  • Remote monitoring for client accounts:
    Client administrators can now enroll cameras in their local Community Connect program by using new remote monitoring options for client accounts. Client administrators can create and download the remote monitoring user credentials and then share them with the Community Connect administrator.

What's new: May 2018

  • Client Home page:
    A new dashboard has been added to the client Home page for end users. This includes a motion activity summary, camera status, motion activity over an 8hr period, and the motion activity peak during the 8hr period.
  • Support for 360° Stratocast™ cameras in Security Center:
    360° cameras are now supported. The 360° cameras can also be dewarped when federated to the Security Center platform.
    NOTE: 360° cameras cannot be dewarped from the Stratocast™ Web Client.
  • Enhanced motion detection:
    Stratocast™ motion detection has been enhanced using a new algorithm that improves the accuracy of the analytic. Axis Video Motion Detection is now supported on all Axis cameras with firmware 6.50 and later.

What's new: December 2017

  • Extended browser support:
    You can now add bookmarks and digitally zoom cameras from the Stratocast™ web client using Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Mozilla Firefox browsers.
    NOTE: The ability to control PTZ, camera focus, and iris control is currently only available when using Internet Explorer and Safari. These capabilities will be added to the newly supported browsers as the features become available and are generally released.

  • Mobile app video timeline:
    A video timeline is now available on the Stratocast™ mobile app for Android and iOS. Using the timeline users can quickly navigate and playback video by swiping forward or backwards. Motion events and bookmarks are displayed and highlighted on the timeline to help users identify when activity occurred. Stratocast™ mobile apps are available for download on the App Store and on Google Play.
